How To Checkout

Etsy Checkout Tutorial:

Ready to buy an item and need help checking out?  It can be a bit confusing if you have never bought from Etsy before- but it is super quick and easy.  I have created this tutorial to guide you through the steps:)  If you have questions, please feel free to ask, and I'll be glad to assist you.

How to add an item to your cart for purchase:
Just click on the item you would like to purchase and then the green "Add to Cart" button to the right.

*If the listing has a drop down menu- please select your desired options before adding.  For example, when ordering a full necklace you must select a length before adding to your cart:

Once you add the item, you will be taken to the checkout screen shown below.  You may either proceed to checkout or add more items to your cart if desired.
Below your items, there will be a "Note to WearableWhispers" area.  Please list any applicable info in this space- such as names to be stamped, fonts (if different), gift notes, etc...

After you have typed in the info you would like stamped, etc, you are ready to choose your payment method.  Shipping is calculated based on your country, so if other than the US, you will need to select from the drop down menu at this time.

What kind of payments do I accept?
All payments are process directly through Etsy or PayPal, I never directly see any of your payment information & it is safe.

- Etsy direct checkout payments- pay through your credit/debit card *This is probably the easiest option for first time customers

-Paypal- pay with your PayPal account or checkout as a PayPal guest without even having an account- credit/debit/e-check payments accepted

-Etsy gift cards

*You have to have an Etsy account in order to make a purchase. If you don't already have one or are not signed in, it will prompt you to sign in or register.  You just need a user name and email.
You may then click the payment method you prefer and click "proceed to checkout".  If paying directly with Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, or an Etsy gift card, you will be prompted to enter all applicable data and addresses.

If you have a PayPal account, and would like to purchase items this way, Etsy will redirect you to PayPal, where you can enter your account information there.

***Once you have finished inputting all of your payment/address data, Etsy will bring you to a final screen where you must click the green "Submit Order" button before it is final:

Need to print an invoice or make sure your order went through?  Log in to Etsy, go to the top right "Your Account" button, click on "Purchases" and your order should come up.
All orders ship out within one week, and I send a confirmation email as soon as they ship.
US orders take 2-5 days in the mail after they have been shipped.  I am unable to guarantee delivery times on international orders, as they have to go through customs, so they can get caught up.  I say average delivery time is around 3 weeks for international pieces, but I have seen items make it much quicker and take longer.

Thanks for your interest!  If you have any questions, just let me know:)

J Fonts

J seems to be a very popular initial, & I get lots of request to view the J in different fonts.  My most popular initial font- large Monogram has a (J) dilemma. The Monogram J has a line through the middle; therefore, some people prefer the (i) instead (which oddly enough does look like a J to me as well).

The picture below shows the fonts as follows on 1/2" charms:
-Top left- Large Block Font J
-Top right- Medium Whimsy uppercase J
-Lower left- Large Monogram J
-Lower right- Large Monogram I

If you do order an J initial charm in the Monogram font, please let me know if you are ok with the J with the line through it or if you would like the (i) to represent a J.  Thanks!

I only carry 2 large fonts: Uppercase Block and Uppercase Monogram, but I do have other fonts/sizes available as well.  You may view all fonts at: http://www.wearablewhispers.blogspot.com/p/font-choices.html  Please note- fonts only come in one size, so I can't make them larger or smaller to fit on a charm.  Just let me know if you have questions:)

Necklace Lengths/Types

Length:

I get lots of questions on necklace length and thought it might be helpful to do a post on the topic. The standard length I recommend is 18" (not too long, not too short on most people). However, I carry many different lengths of chain. Sterling Silver necklace prices include either a 14, 16, 18, or 20" ball chain. I do also have 24" and 30" ball chains available for an additional $2.50 -24" ($17.50 total) and an additional $3- 30" ($18.50 total).
Gold Necklace prices include a 16, 18, or 20" cable chain.

This bust shows the following lengths of ball chain: 14, 16, 18, 20, & 24".
This model shows the following lengths: 14, 16, 18, 20, and 22" (I no longer stock 22", but 24 and 30" instead)

This image was found at http://theaveragegirlsguide.com/2011/12/necklac/ found via Pinterest.  I thought it might be helpful as well.

The model above and below shows the gold cable chain necklaces: 16, 18, and 20" lengths

Necklace Types:

Sterling Silver

Most sterling silver necklaces include/show the ball chain, as I stock large quantities of the multiple lengths.  The other necklace types are available upon request (in place of the ball chain).  The price is the same.  If you would like one of the different chains on a necklace, please list this in the "note to WearableWhispers" area upon checkout.  All the necklaces below are also available for purchase alone as well.

-Ball Chain Necklaces: 16, 18, 20, 24, 30" (this type comes standard with most silver necklace orders)
-Snake/Smooth 1mm Chains: 14, 16, 18"
-Popcorn Chains: 18"
-Flat Cable Chains: 16 or 18"

Necklaces shown on the bust (starting at the top):
Snake/Smooth 1mm chain
Flat Cable chain
Popcorn Chain
Ball Chain

Necklaces in the picture above are (starting at the top): Popcorn chain, Snake Chain, Ball Chain, Cable Chain

Gold Cable Chain verses Silver Cable Chain

The gold and sterling silver cable chains I carry are slightly different.  The silver is considered a flat cable chain and just slightly larger.  They are both still very dainty-shown below with 1/2" charms.

Font Choices Updated

New fonts update:)  I'm excited to offer some new font choices shown below.

I currently have twelve different font choices. They range in sizes and come in different cases (some only lowercase, some uppercase, some both).  Some have matching numbers and some don't.

I can use any font you would like on a piece as long as the size fits.  Unfortunately, I cannot make the fonts larger or smaller to fit a piece as they only come in one set size.
Most of the time, fonts are interchangeable within size. Most small fonts can be used in place of another small font, medium in place of another medium, etc.  The exception to this is the small plain font- it is the very smallest I have, and sometimes I cannot fit another font in its place- even other small ones.

When checking out, please list your font preference in the note to seller area. If no font is specified, the font shown in the main picture will be used. Also, if you would like the first letters of names or words to be capitalized, please specify this.  If not, I will stamp it exactly as you type it. Example: Carrie-Whimsy font, first letter capitalized.

If you are not sure if a font you like will fit on a certain piece, I'll be glad to help:).  Just send me an Etsy convo with your preferences, and I'll be able to tell you if they will fit or give you recommendations.
Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks!

Fonts By Size- Largest to Smallest

Large Fonts:
  • 6.35 mm (1/4") - Block Font- uppercase letters & numbers
  • 6.35 mm - Monogram Font- uppercase letters
Medium Fonts:
  • 3mm - Whimsy Font- upper/lowercase letters
  • 3mm - Newsprint Font- upper/lowercase letters & numbers
  • 3mm - Kismet Font- lowercase letters & numbers
  • 3mm - Font- uppercase letters
  • 3mm - Calligraphy Font- uppercase letters
  • 3mm - Plain- uppercase letters, numbers
Small Fonts:
  • 2.5mm - Scarlett- upper/lowercase letters
  • 2mm - Playful Font- upper/lowercase letters
  • 2mm - Clementine Font- lowercase letters
  • 1.5mm - Plain Font- uppercase letters and numbers

All of the fonts I have are pictured below.  Some only have upper, some lower, some have numbers, some don't.  I commonly mix and match fonts and still get good results:)
I commonly use the Kismet numbers to go with the Whimsy font.  I also commonly use the uppercase Scarlett to go with the lowercase Clementine.  Please let me know if you have questions.
Thanks for looking!

Design Stamps

I have several design stamps that can be added to your pieces if desired. They are all shown below on tiny 3/8" charms.  However, the swirl tree, cross, and handprint are larger and shown on 1/2" charms.  These designs are small- please view the picture below for their comparison to a dime.  Unfortunately, I cannot make them larger, as they only come in the one size.

Row 1: tall heart, remembrance ribbon, baby feet, bird, swirl tree, solid heart
Row 2: cross, regular hear, swirl, flower, line star, ladybug
Row 3: moon, flourish, snowflake/asterisk, vine, side swirl, solid star
Row 4: handprint, whimsy heart, I love you sign language hand

Caring for Your Jewelry

Caring for your sterling silver jewelry:

With a few simple steps, you should be able to enjoy your sterling silver jewelry for years to come.  Sterling naturally tarnishes due to reactions with the air, moisture, and other environmental factors.  Following are a few tips to keep your jewelry in great shape:

1)    Wear it often- your body’s natural oils will actually help prevent tarnish on pieces

2)    When not in use, store you jewelry in a sealed plastic Ziploc bag (separate from other pieces to prevent scratching).  I also suggest storing it out of sunlight when not in use.

*Tip- have you ever seen the small silica bead packs that come in new product packages (they are usually just an inch or so wide)- I’ve found them in pill bottles, shoe boxes, purses, etc.  Silica actually absorbs and holds water vapor.  Therefore, they are great to throw in jewelry drawers to help remove moisture and prevent tarnish

3)    Each order comes with a small, reusable, sample polish cloth.  Gentle rub your *dry jewelry with the cloth to remove any discoloration.  Use this on your pieces as often as needed (better to use it every few weeks- or at the first sign of any tarnish (a brownish/yellow tint will progress to a darker/black tarnish without cleaning)
If you need a larger polish cloth, you can find these for sale on my Etsy store, and at jewelry and craft stores.

4)    Although, I recommend removing your jewelry before showering, swimming, exercising, sleeping, etc., it actually is okay to wash your pieces in soapy warm water to remove any dirt.  I use Dawn dish soap and warm water and gently rinse pieces every now and then.  Pat them dry them with a soft, nonabrasive cloth (old t-shirts are perfect). Once dry, use the polish cloth to restore shine if needed.
